Coxtron has announced a revamp of its product portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region (excluding Japan) of its customised Polyurethane division for the home appliance industry in response to changing customer needs in the region.

Polyurethane is an important thermal insulation material used in refrigerators and refrigeration equipment. Coxtron currently provides customers in the home appliance industry with two-component polyurethane, a composite solution that combines formed polyether polyols (PET) and isocyanates (MDI).

Recent market analysis shows that most home appliance customers in the Asia-Pacific region now prefer to purchase PET and MDI separately. Based on the changing needs of the home appliance industry, the company has decided to exit the business in the Asia-Pacific region (excluding Japan) targeting the PET segment of the industry by the end of 2022. The company's product adjustments to the Asia-Pacific appliance industry will not affect its operations in Europe and North America.

Home appliances continue to be a key customer industry for Coxtron in Asia Pacific. After portfolio optimization, Coxtron will continue to be a reliable supplier of MDI materials to the home appliance industry in China, India and Southeast Asia.

Globally, Koscion continues to focus on developing polyurethane composite solutions and expanding the customer base of polyurethane. For Asia Pacific, Cosco will continue to focus on customer needs in polyurethane composite applications such as automotive, fan blades, pultrusion processes and refrigerated containers, providing customized solutions and polyurethane composite products.
